The KSHSAA executive board has finalized plans for this year’s State Football Championships, setting up three locations for games on Friday and Saturday the final weekend in November.
Emporia State will host the 4, 5 and 6A games, Hutchinson Community College will host the 3, 2 and 1A contests. Kiowa County in Greensburg will host the eight-man and six-man games.
Also, this week, the board voted to begin planning to shift the state basketball tournaments to four sites in March of 2026. There will remain seven classifications of schools, however.
Wrestling this coming season will see the expansion of state sites as KSHSAA is recognizing a 3-1A classification for girls, mirroring the boys class breakdown. Gross Memorial at Hays will again become host of 3-1A tournaments, Salina will be the site for 4A and the sites for 6A and 5A are to be determined, with Hartman Arena in Park City hosting one of the two.
