The Ogallala aquifer is in most of Nebraska and parts of western Kansas and Oklahoma

K-State is set to host the livestock industry next Tuesday for a discussion on sustainability for the Ogallala aquifer.

In a press release, the university announced on Wednesday that the Kansas Water Institute will host the event in partnership with the Kansas Livestock Association and Aimpoint Research to address water conservation from each point of the value chain.

Representatives from K-State and the Livestock Association will join Aimpoint to deliver a report about aquifer stability and the livestock industry’s stability in Kansas that can serve as a future framework.
