BOULDER, Colo. — For the first time in 14 years, the familiar chant of “K-S-U Wildcats” resounded at Folsom Field.

Kansas State football fans on Saturday evening packed the northwest corner of the stadium and sprinkled in throughout the planned gold-out to watch their 18th-ranked Wildcats win a 31-28 thriller over Colorado in the first matchup between the two old Big 8 rivals since 2010.

Todd Waufle, a 1984 Manhattan High and 1989 K-State graduate, was one of those Wildcat fans in attendance, though unlike some, he didn’t have far to drive.
