Kansas State baseball opened Big 12 play with a 2-1 series win at Houston over the weekend, despite falling late in Sunday’s series finale at Darryl and Lori Schroeder Park.

The Wildcats’ saw offensive success all weekend, looking for the sweep before Houston’s Dylan Maxcey connected for a go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning Sunday. He broke a 6-6 tie and highlighted an 11-run frame, guiding the Cougars to a 16-6 victory.
