Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of a Wamego man charged in the September 2021 fentanyl-related overdose death of a 21-year-old man.

McKaine Farr is charged with knowingly distributing fentanyl laced with oxycodone, causing the death of Jayson Ebert, of Wamego. The state plans to call at least one witness on Monday, with much more testimony expected to take place on Tuesday.

Farr faces similar charges in a separate case as well along with two other co-defendants.

The trial is scheduled to last through next week in Judge Jeff Elder’s courtroom in Pottawatomie County District Court.
