A Junction City man was sentenced to time in the Kansas Department of Corrections for his role in a Jan. 2023 kidnapping in Manhattan.

Zane Thomas, 29, was arrested for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault along with two others back in 2023 after they kidnapped a 26-year-old man and repeatedly beat him while they drove him around in a car against his will.

Thomas ultimately pled guilty to charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault with a firearm and a criminal threat back on May 20.

On Monday, Judge Grant Bannister sentenced him to 147 months in prison for the aggravated kidnapping charge, 11 months for aggravated assault and 5 months for the criminal threat. In total, he’ll serve 163 months concurrently to each other in KDOC.
