Police have identified a Junction man charged in the drive-by shooting death of a 26-year-old Wichita woman.
Sedgwick County jail records show 38-year-old Dennis Leroy Alcox is charged with first-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and contempt of court. Wichita Police located the body of Audreanna Hidalgo early Thursday morning in a southeast Wichita neighborhood. She was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.
Alcox was taken into custody a few hours later after he was located in Junction City and transported to Wichita to face formal charges.
He remains jailed in Sedgwick County on a $500,000 bond.

A Junction City man is behind bars in connection to a homicide in Wichita.
According to the Junction City Police Department, Wichita Police responded to a shooting on the southeast side of town just before 2 a.m. Thursday. Officers located 26-year-old Audreanna Hidalgo, of Wichita, with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene.
An investigation determined the suspect was the woman’s 38-year-old boyfriend. Authorities have not identified him, but say he had returned to Junction City, where he was arrested about six hours later.
The Wichita and Junction City Police Departments are said to be working together to compile additional evidence before the suspect is transferred to Wichita to face formal charges.
