West Virginia made No. 17 Kansas State one-dimensional for most of Saturday evening’s game in Morgantown, but it didn’t matter.
The Wildcats came into Saturday’s game with one of the best rushing attacks in the country, led by junior DJ Giddens, one of the top running backs in the country, and West Virginia’s defense did the best job of anyone this season in limiting it. But again, it didn’t matter.
Why? Two words: Avery Johnson.
In K-State’s 45-18 victory over the Mountaineers, the star sophomore proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that while he’s one of the best athletes in the country at the quarterback position, he can also gun-sling with the best of them.
