Riley County clerk Rich Vargo wants voters to know that their elections have never been more secure.
He spoke to The Mercury on Tuesday, a week before Election Day, in the recently renovated Elections Department space. That project has provided more space for elections personnel, and it means no other departments are in the same area when elections staff are working with sensitive information.
In fact, visitors are buzzed in to the office, and they would have to go through a second secure entrance to get access to the employee area.
