Governor Laura Kelly on Thursday announced her annual budget, coming the day after her State of the State on Wednesday night.
Kelly mentioned in the news release that one of her main goals is to fully fund public schools in Kansas.
Kelly said… “I’m a fiscal conservative, which is why, once again, I’m proposing a budget that’s balanced, maintains fiscal stability in the future, and ensures Kansans have access to the services their government has promised them.”
Some of her other top priorities include expanding child care slots and build child care workforce capacity, providing free school meals to qualifying children, increasing the annual water funding by $30 million and repairing the foster care system.
