A former Manhattan High football star has elevated himself to the top of the Kansas State depth chart heading into the 2024 season.
Junior Damian Ilalio has the pole position in the nose tackle race after a strong showing to close last season, including helping the Wildcats to a win over North Carolina State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando.
“I think his late-season push when (senior defensive tackle Uso Seumalo) was hurt has given (Ilalio) a ton of confidence, and he’s playing at a really high level,” Klieman said. “He learned so much from (former K-State tackle Eli Huggins) in the past.”
