A gas leak reported near Manhattan High School Thursday morning did not lead to students evacuating.

In a message sent to students, faculty and families at 9:55 a.m., principal Michael Dorst said MHS was in “Secure Campus” protocol because of an off-campus gas leak south of Oak Street.

School resource officers were notified by the Manhattan Fire Department that the gas was dissipating, and all inside the building are safe. No evacuation was needed.
