A fiery crash near Ogden claimed the life of at least one person Monday evening, according to the Riley County Police.
Shortly after 5 p.m., emergency crews were called out to K-18 near South Walnut in Ogden after a fire ignited as a result of the crash. The fire prompted the closure of both lanes of K-18 and exit 303 on Interstate 70.
Traffic was reopened in the area around 6:30 p.m.
Details surrounding the crash are pending from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Monday’s crash was the second of the weekend reported along K-18 near Ogden. On Saturday, the Kansas Highway Patrol investigated a four vehicle crash that seriously injured a 43-year-old woman from Newton. Two others sustained only minor injuries in that crash.
