County commission chair John Ford on Monday told other local officials at an intergovernmental meeting that the process is moving along.

“We’re hoping to have interviews done shortly,” Ford said.

The county health director position has been open since county documents revealed that Julie Gibbs was not employed in that position as of Aug. 29. When asked, county officials wouldn’t give details about the circumstances of Gibbs’ departure.
