The Riley County planning department is going back to regularly meeting with its committees as Vision 2025 is underway, commissioners said Monday.

Vision 2025 is a comprehensive plan to develop the unincorporated areas of the county while preserving agricultural land and its rural heritage, boost economic opportunities for all citizens and to conserve natural resources.

“I think it’s really good that we’re getting this done by the end of 2025,” said county planning director Amanda Webb. “… We need a new vision, but that also gives us time. We’re not rushing it either.”
