Commissioners — minus Mayor Susan Adamchak, who was absent from the meeting — on Tuesday unanimously approved a request for proposals for design-build services. This starts the process for what is expected to be a $10-million project, which will go back before commissioners in the coming months.

Commissioner John Matta said he supports the improvements, and also believes major cutbacks may be needed.
