Manhattan City Commissioners will hear from the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and the Convention and Visitors Bureau during Tuesday’s work session.

The Chamber and CVB will provide mid-year/second quarter economic development updates as well as their 2024 budget proposals.

The Chamber is requesting an economic development allocation of approximately $543,000, the same amount approved in 2023. The tourism promotion and visitor attraction funding request for 2024 is nearly $1,383,000, a 6.39% increase over the allocation in 2023.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda, the commission will hear an update from the Riley County Police Department.

The work session begins Tuesday night at 6 pm in City Hall.
