Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday night on K-177, about 10 miles south of Manhattan, near the I-70 interchange.
Deputies from the Geary County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after 10:30 pm and conducted an initial investigation, shutting down the highway for several hours overnight. The scene was turned over to Kansas Highway Patrol investigators, who remained on scene until just after 3 a.m.
Details are sparse, but officials say the crash involved one vehicle and KHP has been attempting to contact family members of the deceased driver. That person has not yet been publicly identified.
The crash remains under further investigation.
