An Emmett man was arrested Wednesday night after authorities investigated two domestic violence incidents that allegedly occurred at Pottawatomie County State Lake No. 3.
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were initially dispatched at approximately 3:18 p.m. June 24 after receiving a report of a reckless motorcyclist near Little Noxie Road and McDonald Road in rural Onaga.
During the investigation, deputies learned a female victim had allegedly been battered earlier Wednesday and stabbed with a knife during a separate domestic violence incident Tuesday at Pottawatomie County State Lake No. 3. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Investigators identified the suspect as Jon Harmon, 35, of Emmett. Authorities located Harmon later that evening at a residence in the 600 block of Main Street in Emmett, where he was arrested shortly before 10 p.m.
Harmon was booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail on local charges of aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery, as well as a Shawnee County warrant for drug charges. He remains confined pending bond.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Martinez at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353 or submit an anonymous tip through the department’s Crime Stoppers page.
The sheriff’s office thanked those who provided information during the investigation, as well as the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with Harmon’s apprehension.
