A fire that engulfed a semitrailer has restricted traffic on I-70 just west of Topeka on Wednesday.
The fire was reported just prior to 5:30 a.m. this morning on westbound I-70 about 2 miles west of the Shawnee-Wabaunsee County line.
The semi was reported to be fully engulfed in flames. Initial reports from the scene indicated the trailer was carrying ammunition. Traffic was impeded due to crews responding to scene.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. Details are still emerging with this story.
