The Salina Airport Authority announced Thursday that Amazon has purchased 20 acres for a new distribution center.

The property is in Airport Industrial Center Subdivision No. 3, and the company plans a 90,000-plus-square-foot last-mile distribution facility at 1850 W. Water Well Road, officials said.

The new facility, expected to generate at least 100 new jobs, will serve as a critical component of Amazon’s regional logistics network, further strengthening Salina’s role as a major economic hub in Kansas.
