Kansas-born author and K-State graduate Tammi Sauer returned to her old stomping grounds Wednesday, teaching the 2nd and 3rd graders of Amanda Arnold Elementary about effective story-telling. Sauer, who has written and published 37 children’s books, says she combines heart and humor to her writing.

“It’s just such a strange and wonderful feeling to come back,” Sauer said. “It’s just amazing, it felt like coming home.”

Sauer used to work at Amanda Arnold Elementary 30 years ago, when she was pursuing a career in teaching.
