Officers responded to a report of an injury crash in the 9600 block of Anderson Ave., in Riley on Sept. 28, 2025 at approximately 8:39 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 2005 GMC Sierra 3500 driven by Carson Avery, 35, of Riley, had lost control after a dust cloud and wound up in a culvert. Avery was transported to Via Christi Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Officers filed a report of aggravated battery, violation of a protection order, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass in Ogden on Sept. 28 at approximately 3:58 a.m. A 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman were both listed as suspects and victims in the report. Janaya Scott, 21, of Ogden, was arrested for criminal damage to property at 7:04 a.m. in Ogden. Scott was issued a total bond of $2,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail. Nevaeh Wilson, 20, of Ogden, was arrested for aggravated battery, violation of a protection order, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass at 4:09 a.m. in Ogden. Wilson was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report of criminal damage to property in the 1000 block of Sunset Ave., on Sept. 28 at approximately 2:14 a.m. Listed victims included three 18-year-old men when it was reported their vehicles were egged by an unknown suspect. The vehicles damaged include a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2017 Ford Edge and a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta. Ruffins was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Scott Habluetzel, 45, of Manhattan, was arrested on Sept. 27 at approximately 11:30 p.m. near Fair Lane and Juliette Ave. on a Kansas Department of Corrections warrant for probation violation. He was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report of vehicle theft Manhattan on Sept. 27 at approximately 1:45 p.m. A 19-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported a known 30-year-old suspect stole a rented 2012 Toyota Camry. The estimated total loss associated with this case is $6,000.

Jessica Riley was transported to Via Christi Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Jeremy Riley was issued a citation for failing to yield right of way at an intersection.

Riley County Police are investigating a theft reported Friday evening in the 600 block of Highland Ridge Drive. Officers say an 18-year-old man reported his Cartier watch was stolen during an attempted purchase. The loss is valued at $12,000.

Police are also investigating a burglary reported Friday morning in the 400 block of McCall Road. Officers say a 35-year-old man reported that a suspect broke into his storage unit and stole approximately $1,300 worth of items.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact RCPD or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
