<p data-start="125" data-end="284">A former Wabaunsee County correctional officer has been arrested following a probe by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.</p>
<p data-start="286" data-end="479">Authorities say 48-year-old Jeffery Patrick turned himself in Sunday at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested on a charge of mistreatment of a confined person.</p>
<p data-start="481" data-end="797">The KBI says the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office asked for help in May after learning a correctional officer may have been taking money from an inmate for personal use. The alleged incidents happened between March and May at the Wabaunsee County Jail, where Patrick worked until he was fired in June.</p>
<p data-start="799" data-end="915">Patrick was booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail. Investigators say no further details are being released.</p>

<p>Authorities say the inaugural Rock the Plains was an overall safe event for concertgoers.</p>
<p>According to statistics provided by Pottawatomie County Sheriff Doug Adams on Sunday, there were just six law enforcement-related calls for service occurring over the weekend at Tuttle Creek State Park, related to the event.</p>

<p>Adams said his office arrested one person on suspicion of criminal trespass. Officers also reported two cases of battery, one case of animal cruelty, one water-related call and one non-violent domestic incident.</p>
<p>Overall it was a fairly safe weekend for concertgoers at Rock the Plains.</p>
<p>Calls were handled by the Sheriff&#8217;s Office and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.</p>

<p>The Pottawatomie County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Friday morning issued a press release in an attempt to find witnesses to a fight in rural Wamego on July 3.</p>
<p>One person was taken to an area hospital for their injuries when the sheriff&#8217;s office responded to a report from an injury from a fight at a party in the area of Elm Slough (Slew) Rd and Traytons Lane.</p>
<p>Law enforcement has reportedly spoken with several people at the party, but are now asking the public for help identifying two vehicles and possible occupants who may have been witnessed the events.</p>
<p>One vehicle is described as dark colored sedan and the other vehicle is described as a white three-quarters to &#8211; 1 ton truck with rock lights in the wheel wells. It was reported that there were several unknown teenagers or young adults in the vehicles.</p>
<p>The sheriff&#8217;s office asks anyone with information to contact Detective Kidd at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353, <a href="https://ptsheriff.com/programs-resources/crime-stoppers/"  rel="noopener">or leave an anonymous tip with crimestoppers.</a></p>

<p>Pottawatomie County authorities are investigating a pair of injury accidents that occurred early Thursday morning.</p>
<p>Deputies responded around 6:50 a.m. to a report of a rollover accident near Highway 99 and Kerr Road, north of Westmoreland.</p>
<p>According to a release from Sheriff Doug Adams, the driver, 21-year-old Trevor Harbolt, of Frankfort, was transported by Pottawatomie County EMS to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.</p>
<p>About 10 minutes later, at around 7 o&#8217;clock, deputies responded to a separate crash report near State Lake Road and Junietta Road in Blue Township, after a motorcycle struck a cow.</p>
<p>The driver, 60-year-old Chad Olson, of Manhattan, was transported to a local hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries</p>
