Silly Goose Frontman Arrested at Chicago Pop-Up Performance

Silly Goose singer Jackson Foster was arrested Saturday night (Aug. 2) following an impromptu performance at a Chicago-area BP gas station. The pop-up set took place after the band attended Lollapalooza, continuing their reputation for surprise shows in unconventional locations.

The police were called during the performance, and Foster was taken into custody. In videos posted to Instagram, the band documented parts of the set and the moment Foster was led away in handcuffs. One caption read, “They let me go to jail,” while another post showed the band returning to the site the next night, performing across the street with a sign and speakers to promote their upcoming album, Keys to the City.

In a comment on the band’s post, Foster explained he was charged with criminal trespassing despite claiming the gas station employees had given them permission. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 2.

Despite the legal trouble, Silly Goose used the attention to promote their latest single, “Now Dance,” and continued teasing new music from their upcoming release. (Loudwire)

Ozzy Osbourne Exhibition Extended Due to Popular Demand

The Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero exhibition at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery has been extended through January 18, 2026, after strong public interest. Originally set to close in late September, the exhibit will now remain open an additional four months.

Launched on June 25 and opened by Sharon Osbourne, the exhibition was timed to coincide with Black Sabbath’s homecoming concert at Villa Park on July 5. Developed in partnership with Central BID Birmingham, the free display highlights Ozzy’s career—from his early days in Aston to becoming a global rock icon.

On display are some of Osbourne’s most notable achievements, including Grammy Awards, MTV honors, and plaques from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fans can also view a collection of platinum and gold records, personal memorabilia, and rare photos and video chronicling his decades-long legacy.

The extension gives more fans the chance to experience the story of one of rock’s most enduring and celebrated figures. (antiMusic)

Nothing More Hits #1 Again With “Freefall” Featuring Chris Daughtry

Nothing More has returned to the top of the rock charts with their latest single “Freefall” (feat. Chris Daughtry), which this week claimed the No. 1 spot on both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock charts.

“Freefall” marks the fourth single from their Carnal album to reach the top position, following previous hits “House On Sand” (feat. Eric Vanlerberghe of I Prevail), “Angel Song” (feat. David Draiman), and “If It Doesn’t Hurt.”

“It’s been incredible to see a song that means so much to us resonate with so many of you,” said bassist Daniel Oliver. “We’re very honored to have Chris Daughtry lend his voice and spirit to this one. Huge thanks to K9s For Warriors for the amazing work you do, and to everyone else who helped bring this song to life. You’ve taken us to the top of the charts for the 4th time in a row!”

Chris Daughtry added, “It’s a privilege to celebrate this win with a band I admire and love so much.”

The video for “Freefall” was shot in Clifton, Tennessee, and features local firefighters and law enforcement, some of whom also served as technical advisors. Actor Michael Lombardi, known for his role in the series Rescue Me, stars in the video, bringing authenticity through his long-standing connection to first responder stories.

Nothing More partnered with K9s For Warriors—a nonprofit that provides service dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries—to raise awareness and support through the song. Their goal is to raise $20,000, the cost to sponsor, rescue, and train a station dog. A portion of merchandise sales and direct donations linked to the video will support the organization’s mission.

Since 2011, K9s For Warriors has rescued over 2,000 dogs and matched more than 1,000 veterans with service animals at no cost to them. (antiMusic)

Terry Reid, Original Led Zeppelin Vocal Candidate, Dies at 75

British rock singer Terry Reid, widely known for turning down early offers to front both Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, has died at the age of 75. He had been undergoing cancer treatment in recent months.

Born on November 13, 1949, in St. Neots, England, Reid began his music career in the early 1960s. As a member of Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers, he performed in clubs across the UK and even opened for the Rolling Stones.

Though he never reached the mainstream success of some of his peers, Reid’s powerful voice and early influence left a lasting mark on the rock world. He famously declined Jimmy Page’s invitation to join Led Zeppelin, instead recommending Robert Plant for the role. He also passed on an offer from Deep Purple.

Reid’s legacy endures as a respected figure among musicians and fans, remembered for his talent, integrity, and role in shaping the paths of rock history’s biggest names. (Ultimate Classic Rock)

This summer, it’s all about the late ’90s and early 2000s! The Summer of ’99 + Beyond Festival returns, now a two-day rock spectacle at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI, on July 18-19.

After a successful 2024 debut in San Bernardino, CA, demand was so high that Creed pushed the festival to two days and found a new Midwest home to give even more fans a chance to relive the era’s best rock anthems. Both Creed and Nickelback have a history with Alpine Valley—Creed first rocked the venue in 2000, while Nickelback made their debut there in 2007. This also marks the first time the two bands have shared a festival bill since 1999!

Bret Michaels, Vince Neil & Stephen Pearcy Bring Parti-Gras to Bethel Woods

Bret Michaels, Vince Neil, and Stephen Pearcy are set to bring their Parti-Gras Tour 2025 to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY, on Sunday, August 3!

This iconic night of hit songs unites the legendary voices of Poison, Mötley Crüe, and Ratt for an electrifying summer show. While no official announcement has been made by the artists, the venue confirmed the event, teasing an unforgettable night of rock anthems.

Russ Ballard Revives “God Gave Rock N’ Roll To You” with New Rendition

Legendary songwriter Russ Ballard has dropped a fresh video for his new version of “God Gave Rock N’ Roll To You”, the iconic track he originally wrote—a hit for both Argent and KISS.

Reflecting on the song, Ballard shared, “It reflected the optimism I felt at the time… It was a hit for Argent and later for KISS when it was featured in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.”

This release follows Ballard’s recent revamp of “New York Groove”, famously covered by Ace Frehley in 1978. A true rock hitmaker, Ballard’s legendary catalog includes “Since You Been Gone” (Rainbow), “Winning” (Santana), “You Can Do Magic” (America), and many more.

Ozzy Osbourne Says ‘I Can’t Walk’ But Still Looks Ahead To Final Farewell Show

Despite struggling with mobility due to Parkinson’s, Ozzy Osbourne is gearing up for one last epic concert. Back to the Beginning, set in his hometown of Birmingham, will see him reunite with Black Sabbath’s original lineup alongside Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Anthrax, and more.

“Ozzy didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there’s no been no full stop. This is his full stop.” Sharon Osbourne told the BBC, adding that Ozzy is thrilled to take the stage again.

“I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive. I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.” Ozzy said on SiriusXM. And according to Sharon, his voice is as powerful as ever.

Iron Maiden’s Nicko McBrain Opens Up on Touring Retirement

Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain stunned fans in December when he announced his retirement from touring. Now, the 72-year-old legend is reflecting on the decision.

Speaking with Chaoszine (via Blabbermouth), McBrain admitted he has “mixed emotions” about stepping away. “Making the decision to step back from touring… it was easy at the time, going towards the end of the tour,” he shared.

McBrain’s departure marks the end of an era, but his legacy behind the kit lives on.

Soft Machine Co-Founder Mike Ratledge Dies at 81

Mike Ratledge, founding keyboardist of progressive rock pioneers Soft Machine, has passed away at 81.

The news was confirmed by Soft Machine guitarist John Etheridge, who paid tribute on Facebook. “Mike was the backbone of Soft Machine in the early years… a marvelous composer and keyboardist,” he wrote, calling Ratledge a “renaissance man” with an “absolutely incisive mind.”

Ratledge’s influence on prog and jazz-rock remains undeniable. He will be deeply missed.

L.A. Guns Announce New Album Leopard Skin, Drop Fiery First Single

Nearly 40 years after conquering the Sunset Strip, L.A. Guns are still bringing the grit. Instead of coasting on past glories, the band is set to release their 15th studio album, Leopard Skin, on April 4 via Cleopatra Records.

Leading the charge is the scorching first single, “Taste It,” which just dropped on all digital platforms. L.A. Guns prove once again—they’re not slowing down anytime soon.
