An Ogden woman is jailed after police say she violated a protection order and interfered with a police officer.

Riley County Police say 28-year-old Amanda Vestweber was arrested Saturday morning in the 3700 block of Hawthorne Woods Circle, about a half mile north of Frank Bergman Elementary.School.

Vestweber was issued a total bond of $6,000. She was no longer confined as of Monday’s activity report.

An Ogden woman was arrested Friday evening in connection with a case reported earlier this year involving crimes against a child.

Riley County Police say Jessica Miller, 43, of Ogden, was taken into custody at approximately 5:04 p.m. Jan. 30, 2026. Miller faces charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and six counts of sexual exploitation of a child. The arrest stems from a report filed in January 2025.

Miller was issued a total bond of $225,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

Two people were taken into custody Thursday evening in Ogden following the execution of a search warrant and the service of a district court warrant.

Riley County Police say 21-year-old Jessica Urbina of Manhattan was arrested around 5:53 p.m. Jan. 15 in the 300 block of Twelfth Street on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. The warrant stems from original charges of possession of fentanyl, hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia. Urbina was issued a total bond of $15,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

Earlier that evening, officers executed a search warrant at approximately 5:36 p.m. at the same location. As a result of the search, 63-year-old Luke Johnson of Ogden was arrested around 5:48 p.m. on charges of use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer and possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant.

Johnson was issued a total bond of $12,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

An Ogden man was arrested Monday afternoon on multiple charges tied to a burglary reported late last week.

Riley County Police say officers initially filed a burglary report around 4:37 p.m. Dec. 12 in the 600 block of Moro Street.

On Dec. 15, officers arrested 19-year-old Estevan Rochin in the 200 block of Riley Avenue around 3:17 p.m. Rochin faces charges of theft of property or services, three counts of theft by deception and two counts of making false information.

He was issued a total bond of $20,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

An Ogden man is jailed on a long list of suspected drug-related offenses, following his Tuesday arrest in the Candlewood Shopping Center.

The Riley County Police Department says 54-year-old Dean Garvin faces 13 total charges. They include two counts each of distributing narcotics and possessing heroin or fentanyl with intent to distribute, as well as additional paraphernalia and marijuana charges.

Garvin also was booked on suspicion of using a communication device in the commission of a felony drug crime.

Garvin’s total bond is set at $50,000.

An Ogden man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a months-long investigation into fraudulent card use and computer-related crimes.

Riley County Police say the original report was filed July 27 around 2:12 p.m. in the 200 block of South Seth Child Road. The case involved criminal use of a financial card, theft of property or services and multiple computer unlawful acts.

On Nov. 18, officers arrested 28-year-old David DeJesus Roman in the 1000 block of South Seth Child Road. He faces seven counts of computer unlawful acts, six counts of criminal use of a financial card and one count of theft of property or services.

DeJesus Roman was issued a total bond of $28,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

Two Manhattan area women were seriously injured Saturday night after their vehicle struck a deer on I-70 in Shawnee County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 71-year-old Phyllis Trudell of St. George was driving westbound near Carlson Road around 11:15 p.m. when her car hit a deer and overturned several times.

Both Trudell and her passenger, 66-year-old Susan Cherry of Ogden, were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with serious injuries.

Troopers say both women were wearing seatbelts.

This summer, five schools in the Manhattan-Ogden district will host the Summer Reading program. Bluemont Elementary, Northview Elementary, Ogden Elementary, Marlatt Elementary and Manhattan High School are taking part this year.

Manhattan High is a new participating location this year, lending its library to the children.

“The high school library will be manned by our wonderful middle school librarians, Melanie Borror and Jill Pfannenstiel,” said Lucas Loughmiller, director of library & instructional media services.
