Silly Goose Frontman Arrested at Chicago Pop-Up Performance

Silly Goose singer Jackson Foster was arrested Saturday night (Aug. 2) following an impromptu performance at a Chicago-area BP gas station. The pop-up set took place after the band attended Lollapalooza, continuing their reputation for surprise shows in unconventional locations.

The police were called during the performance, and Foster was taken into custody. In videos posted to Instagram, the band documented parts of the set and the moment Foster was led away in handcuffs. One caption read, “They let me go to jail,” while another post showed the band returning to the site the next night, performing across the street with a sign and speakers to promote their upcoming album, Keys to the City.

In a comment on the band’s post, Foster explained he was charged with criminal trespassing despite claiming the gas station employees had given them permission. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 2.

Despite the legal trouble, Silly Goose used the attention to promote their latest single, “Now Dance,” and continued teasing new music from their upcoming release. (Loudwire)

Ozzy Osbourne Exhibition Extended Due to Popular Demand

The Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero exhibition at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery has been extended through January 18, 2026, after strong public interest. Originally set to close in late September, the exhibit will now remain open an additional four months.

Launched on June 25 and opened by Sharon Osbourne, the exhibition was timed to coincide with Black Sabbath’s homecoming concert at Villa Park on July 5. Developed in partnership with Central BID Birmingham, the free display highlights Ozzy’s career—from his early days in Aston to becoming a global rock icon.

On display are some of Osbourne’s most notable achievements, including Grammy Awards, MTV honors, and plaques from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fans can also view a collection of platinum and gold records, personal memorabilia, and rare photos and video chronicling his decades-long legacy.

The extension gives more fans the chance to experience the story of one of rock’s most enduring and celebrated figures. (antiMusic)

Nothing More Hits #1 Again With “Freefall” Featuring Chris Daughtry

Nothing More has returned to the top of the rock charts with their latest single “Freefall” (feat. Chris Daughtry), which this week claimed the No. 1 spot on both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock charts.

“Freefall” marks the fourth single from their Carnal album to reach the top position, following previous hits “House On Sand” (feat. Eric Vanlerberghe of I Prevail), “Angel Song” (feat. David Draiman), and “If It Doesn’t Hurt.”

“It’s been incredible to see a song that means so much to us resonate with so many of you,” said bassist Daniel Oliver. “We’re very honored to have Chris Daughtry lend his voice and spirit to this one. Huge thanks to K9s For Warriors for the amazing work you do, and to everyone else who helped bring this song to life. You’ve taken us to the top of the charts for the 4th time in a row!”

Chris Daughtry added, “It’s a privilege to celebrate this win with a band I admire and love so much.”

The video for “Freefall” was shot in Clifton, Tennessee, and features local firefighters and law enforcement, some of whom also served as technical advisors. Actor Michael Lombardi, known for his role in the series Rescue Me, stars in the video, bringing authenticity through his long-standing connection to first responder stories.

Nothing More partnered with K9s For Warriors—a nonprofit that provides service dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries—to raise awareness and support through the song. Their goal is to raise $20,000, the cost to sponsor, rescue, and train a station dog. A portion of merchandise sales and direct donations linked to the video will support the organization’s mission.

Since 2011, K9s For Warriors has rescued over 2,000 dogs and matched more than 1,000 veterans with service animals at no cost to them. (antiMusic)

Terry Reid, Original Led Zeppelin Vocal Candidate, Dies at 75

British rock singer Terry Reid, widely known for turning down early offers to front both Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, has died at the age of 75. He had been undergoing cancer treatment in recent months.

Born on November 13, 1949, in St. Neots, England, Reid began his music career in the early 1960s. As a member of Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers, he performed in clubs across the UK and even opened for the Rolling Stones.

Though he never reached the mainstream success of some of his peers, Reid’s powerful voice and early influence left a lasting mark on the rock world. He famously declined Jimmy Page’s invitation to join Led Zeppelin, instead recommending Robert Plant for the role. He also passed on an offer from Deep Purple.

Reid’s legacy endures as a respected figure among musicians and fans, remembered for his talent, integrity, and role in shaping the paths of rock history’s biggest names. (Ultimate Classic Rock)

Los Angeles Fires Rage On; Metallica’s Foundation Steps Up

The wildfires devastating Los Angeles since January 7 continue to wreak havoc, fueled by relentless flames and the looming threat of 70 MPH Santa Ana winds. Over the past week, the community has endured 24 lives lost, 100,000 evacuations, 40,000 acres scorched, and 12,000 structures destroyed.

Metallica’s foundation, All Within My Hands, is stepping up, donating $500,000 to wildfire relief efforts. The funds will support the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief Fund, aiding immediate and long-term recovery.

The California Community Foundation focuses on underserved communities, providing vital support like housing, medical care, mental health services, and infrastructure rebuilding.
Telepathy Announce New Album Transmissions

UK-based post-metal instrumentalists Telepathy have revealed their fourth full-length album, Transmissions, set for release on March 14 via Berlin’s Pelagic Records.

Formed in 2011, Telepathy is the brainchild of Polish brothers Piotr, Albert, and Krystian Turek, joined by English guitarist Richard Powley. Known for their cinematic soundscapes and genre-blending creativity, the band pulls influence from Tool, Deftones, and Vangelis, while weaving in elements of synthwave, post-punk, and film score artistry.

Telepathy’s signature style combines atypical tunings, found audio samples, and intricate, unpredictable time signatures, creating vivid, instrument-driven narratives that have earned them a reputation as one of the most dynamic acts in the instrumental post-metal scene.

Transmissions promises to be another bold step forward for the band, delivering immersive and boundary-pushing soundscapes.
