Riley County Police are investigating a case of motor vehicle burglary that occurred in the overnight hours on Wednesday in the 1600 block of Beechwood Terrace.

Officers filed the report just after 7 a.m. when a 24-year-old man reported his vehicle was broken into and military gear was stolen. The total loss is estimated at $2367.

RCPD filed a report of fraud/theft by deception in the 300 block of Riley Ave on Wednesday.

Officers list Casey’s General Store as the victim when it was reported an unknown male and female used a “cash card” to obtain merchandise and lottery tickets but the card was fraudulent.

Riley County Police filed reports for two separate vehicle thefts on December 3, 2024, in Manhattan, KS.

The first incident occurred in the 2700 block of Leslie Lane, where a 46-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man reported their 2004 Toyota Tacoma stolen overnight. The total loss associated with the theft is approximately $6,000.

Later in the day, officers responded to a second report of motor vehicle theft in the 3300 block of Musil Drive at approximately 2:19 PM. A 23-year-old man reported his Mazda 6 was stolen during the morning hours. However, the vehicle was recovered later that night at approximately 11:38 PM.
