Authorities are investigating a home burglary reported Saturday afternoon in Manhattan.

Riley County Police were called out to the 400 block of Walters Drive where a 51-year-old woman claimed someone broke into her home and stole a safe containing a large amount of cash. Police estimate the loss at just over $10,000.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 3300 block of Half Full Dr. in Manhattan on June 11, 2025, at approximately 7:11 a.m. Foley Equipment was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took a laptop and computer equipment. Officers filed a report for sexual battery near the intersection of Browning Ave. and Lori Ln. in Manhattan on June 11, 2025, at approximately 5:13 p.m. A 17-year-old woman was listed as a victim and a 48-year-old man listed as the suspect. Shawn Sinnott, 48, of Manhattan was arrested on June 11, 2025, at approximately 5:59 p.m. for sexual battery. Sinnott was issued a total bond of $50,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this release. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 700 block of Oakbrook Pl. in Manhattan on June 11, 2025, at approximately 8:21 p.m. A 72-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered the victims home and took her 2012 Honda CRV. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $4,000. On January 27, 2025, at approximately 7:53 AM, officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a burglary report in the 600 block of Bluemont Ave. D&R Construction was listed as the victim after an unknown suspect gained access to a trailer and stole tools. The total loss from the burglary is approximately $2,265.
