Riley County police officers responded to several incidents over the weekend, including a reported robbery, shots-fired call and multiple arrests across the community.

According to RCPD activity logs, officers were called late Saturday night to the 1300 block of Marlatt Avenue at Country Meadow Residences for a reported robbery. Police also investigated a shots-fired report earlier in the evening near the 300 block of North 5th Street.

Among the weekend arrests, Jared Jesse Rodriguez Espinoza, 23, of Kansas City, Kansas, was taken into custody early Saturday on I-70 for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude, DUI, and multiple traffic violations. He remains confined at the Riley County Jail.

Tate Cole Miller, 22, of Manhattan, was arrested later that evening in the 300 block of North 5th Street for criminal damage to property valued between $1,000 and $25,000. David Daniel DeJesus Roman, 28, of Ogden, was arrested on theft and interference charges along with driving without a license. Michael Cortez, 41, of Manhattan, was arrested on an extradition warrant, and Manfred Adrien Elocka Ngom, 30, of Manhattan, was taken into custody on a failure-to-appear warrant

Riley County Police officers responded to a series of incidents over the past two days, including assaults, warrants, and a reported stolen vehicle.

According to Friday and Saturday’s RCPD activity logs, officers were called to multiple locations across Manhattan for various reports, including a sexual offense, domestic disturbance, and a stolen vehicle reported early Saturday at the Manhattan Emergency Shelter on South 4th Street. Other calls included an assault near North 12th Street and Bluemont Avenue and a non-injury crash in the 1400 block of Anderson Avenue.

Among the arrests reported, Estevan Izik Rochin, 19, of Ogden, was taken into custody Saturday around 1:20 a.m. for unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits, criminal carrying of a weapon, and interference with law enforcement. Brian Griffith, 25, of Junction City, and Isaiah Myers, 31, of Topeka, were arrested Friday on warrants for probation violation and failure to appear, respectively. Other arrests included Timoteo Guzman, 21, of Manhattan, cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

Officers filed a report of an injury accident at the corner of Southwind Road and S. Seth Child Road on February 11, 2025, at approximately 12:01 PM.  Officers report Courtney Downs, of Manhattan, failed to yield the right of way at the traffic light causing her to strike the vehicle driven by Dauane Briggs, of Salina. Downs and a passenger from Dauane Briggs’ vehicle were transported to Via Christi by EMS for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Jarod Petty, 19, of Manhattan, was arrested on February 11, 2025 at approximately 4:22 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Petty was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for perjury. Total bond was set at $5,000. Petty was confined at the time of this report.

Joseph Bauer, Jr., 20, of Manhattan, was arrested on February 11, 2025 at approximately 4:22 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Petty was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for perjury. Total bond was set at $5,000. Bauer was confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report of a stolen vehicle trailer on February 10, 2025, at approximately 2:19 PM in the 1100 block of Thurston Street.  Officers listed a 77-year-old male as the victim when it was reported his red, flatbed, single axle, 10′ trailer had been taken by an unknown subject. Officers filed a report of theft by deception on February 10, 2025, at approximately 3:06 PM in the 2300 block of Tuttle creek Blvd.  Officers list Dara’s Fast Lane as the victim when it was reported an unknown subject called the store posing as a US Marshall coercing the clerk into taking money to send to them. Trenton Richerson, 23, of Marysville, was arrested on February 10, 2025, at approximately 12:50 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road.  Richerson was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. Total bond was set at $25,000. Richerson was confined at the time of this report.

Joshua Downey, 28, of Manhattan, was arrested on February 10, 2025, at approximately 5:13 PM at the corner of Walters Drive and Mission Ave.  Downey was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. Total bond was set at $25,000. Downey was confined at the time of this report.
