PHOENIX, Arizona — The landscape of college football is always shifting. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, something else changes and that leads to a chain reaction that affects six other things. It’s tough thing to keep it all straight, just ask Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman.

Starting next season, the Wildcats roster will shrink to just 105 players total, all of which will be scholarship spots. This past season, K-State had over 120 players on the roster, but only 85 scholarships to give.

The change, which comes following the $2.8 billion House v. NCAA settlement, sets new limits for the maximum roster size of every Division I NCAA-sponsored sport. The roster limits help make way for a new revenue-sharing model that will allow schools to directly play athletes for their services for the first time in the sports’ history.
