Authorities are investigating after a woman was struck while riding an electric scooter Monday afternoon.

The Riley County Police Department says 36-year-old Ashley Crow was transported by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital. She had only minor injuries.

Police say the vehicle fled the area. They’re asking anyone that may have information to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

Officers filed reports of three separate motorcycle thefts that occurred in Manhattan between July 25 and July 31, 2025. A 32-year-old man was listed as the suspect and arrested on three counts of counts of theft (value $1,500-$25,000) and one of count of fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. Bradley Sutton, 32, of Topeka, was arrested on July 31, 2025, at approximately 3:49 p.m., in the 1700 block of Fair Lane in Manhattan. Sutton was issued a total bond of $16,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report of a stolen motorcycle in the 700 block of Highland Ridge Dr., in Manhattan, on July 29, 2025 at approximately 12:04 p.m. A 31-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle from a parking lot. The estimated total loss from this incident is approximately $7,000. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Kelly Ware, 46, of Wichita, was arrested on July 29, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m. on a Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear. Ware was issued a total bond of $8,500 is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Christopher Sims, 33, of Junction City, KS, was arrested on May 28, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m. at 1001 S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. The warrant stems from the original charges of Burglary, three counts of battery and assault. Sims was issued a total bond of $20,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

The Riley County Police Department reported a variety of incidents and arrests over the weekend, ranging from non-injury accidents to felony arrests.

Among the incidents, police responded to multiple non-injury accidents at locations including the 2600 block of Kimball Avenue, the intersection of Walters Drive and Tuttle Creek Boulevard, and S. 11th Street and Poyntz Avenue. Officers also handled reports of blackmail/extortion, criminal damage to property, a criminal threat, and a past fight at the Manhattan Town Center Mall​Several arrests were made, including Johnaton Minh Son Tran, 35, of Manhattan, who was taken into custody early Sunday morning for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Gerald Dwight Baker Jr., 22, and Charla Sue Albright, 44, were both arrested on outstanding failure to appear warrants. Albright faces additional charges for probation violation and multiple failures to appear​.

William Leonard Henson Jr., 53, was arrested for domestic battery, assault, and criminal damage to property. He remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $11,000​.

Additional charges over the weekend included minor in possession of alcohol, fleeing and eluding, and drug- or alcohol-related DUIs​.

On January 25 and 26, RCPD officers responded to a variety of calls including a theft:

• Fraud and Larceny: A fraud case was reported at Commerce Bank on Claflin Road, and a pair of larceny incidents took place at Menards on McCall Road in Manhattan, both on January 25.

Recent Arrests:

Several individuals were arrested by RCPD officers on charges ranging from domestic battery to criminal offenses involving weapons and impersonation:

• Dashaun Isaac Kareem Edwards (21, Manhattan) was arrested early on January 26 for criminal use of weapons, trespassing, and violating protection orders. He remains in custody at the Riley County Jail, with no bond set at this time.
• Amber Marie Curry (37, Manhattan) was arrested on January 25 for domestic battery following an incident in Fairmont Park. She was booked into the Riley County Jail, with a bond set at $2,000.
• Jeremy Alexander Barker (45, Manhattan) faced multiple charges, including aggravated false impersonation, domestic battery, and aggravated kidnapping, after an arrest on January 25. His bond has been set at $150,000.
• Dale Allen Corbin (26, Manhattan) was arrested earlier on January 25 on charges of interfering with law enforcement and attempting to flee from officers during a warrant service. His arrest was later classified as “exceptionally cleared,” and he has been released from custody.

Officers filed a report of an injury accident on January 7, 2025, at approximately 10:15 AM at mile marker 306 on Tuttle Creek Blvd. Officer report a 32-year-old female lost control of her vehicle on the ice. Roxanne Brown was transported by EMS to Via Christi for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Myles Vaughn, 32, of Manhattan, was arrested on January 7, 2025, at approximately 12:30 PM in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road. Vaughn was arrested on the probable cause offenses of theft of property or services ($1,500- $25,000), forgery, and identity theft. Total bond was set at $20,000. Vaughn was confined at the time of this report.

RCPD says they’re investigating a burglary incident in which a unknown subject entered an apartment and lit a carpet on fire.

Officers filed the report on Thursday evening in the 700 block of Humboldt Street just prior to 5 p.m. and list several individuals as the victim in this case. Officers are listing this as a burglary and aggravated arson.
