The Riley County Police Department responded to a series of incidents throughout Manhattan on Friday, July 18, resulting in ten arrests on a variety of charges.

In the early hours of the morning, officers were called to the 1100 block of Moro Street for a reported fight. Two individuals, 20-year-old Edwin Wesley Daniels Jr. of Fort Riley and 27-year-old Sean Reeves Mahoney of Seneca, were arrested at the scene for disorderly conduct related to brawling or fighting. Both were issued a $500 bond.

Later in the evening, another arrest occurred when officers took 23-year-old Mason Clay Moon of Manhattan into custody after a pursuit on Claflin Road. Moon faces a string of felony charges including aggravated endangering of a child, aggravated battery with a weapon, DUI (third offense within 10 years), failure to stop at an accident involving damage over $1,000, and fleeing law enforcement. His bond was set at $50,000.

At around 6:43 p.m., 20-year-old Cameron Michael Sumpter of Manhattan was arrested for driving under the influence near North 14th Street and Anderson Avenue. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Caleb Alexander Harris of Wichita was taken into custody on charges of aggravated escape from custody and probation violation. His bond was set at $60,000.

In separate incidents, Kamron Diaz Tucker, 23, of Lawrence was arrested on a warrant for aggravated battery with a $5,000 bond, and David DeJesus Roman, 28, of Ogden was taken into custody for failure to appear. Officers also arrested Reese Dekota Williston at the Be Able Community Center and Nicholas Caesar Chavez at the Riley County Jail, both on warrant-related charges.

Additionally, 29-year-old Keith Allen Rea of Junction City was arrested for violating a protection order and aggravated burglary. His bond was set at $15,000.

In total, RCPD responded to 19 reported incidents for the day, including multiple non-injury crashes, warrant pickups, a DUI, domestic disturbances, and a reported sex offense. Several investigations remain ongoing.
