A Junction City man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a litany of charges including aggravated kidnapping.

Marcus Devior Jackson, 37, was arrested by Riley County police at 3 p.m. for aggravated kidnapping, attempted rape, aggravated burglary, aggravated domestic battery, criminal damage to property, aggravated sexual battery and protection order violation. He is in Riley County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

On January 25, 2025, at approximately 2:37 PM, officers filed a report in Manhattan regarding a series of serious criminal offenses. The report included charges of domestic battery, criminal threat, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated impersonation of a law enforcement officer.

Jeremy Barker, 45, of Manhattan, was arrested just minutes later at around 2:44 PM. He was taken into custody on probable cause for aggravated false impersonation, domestic battery, aggravated kidnapping, and criminal threat. His bond was set at $150,000, and he was confined at the time of the report.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case, no further details have been released at this time.

Officers filed a report of criminal discharge of a firearm on January 24, 2025, at approximately 11:58 PM in the 1300 block of Laramie Street. Officer report hearing a noise similar to that of a gunshot and upon investigation located evidence of a round being fired by an unknown subject in the parking garage.  Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Eva Cleary, 20, of Ogden, was arrested on January 24, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM in the 100 block of N. 4th Street. Cleary was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for interference with an LEO- falsely reporting a felony intending to obstruct.  Total bond was set at $6,000. Cleary was not confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report of fraud on January 25, 2025, at approximately 9:43 AM in the 2700 block of Claflin Road. Officers report a 68-year-old male was contacted by an outside agency that a mistake was made on a bill resulting in the victim withdrawing and depositing money as instructed by an unknown subject. Total loss associated with this report is $9,100.  Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report of domestic battery, criminal threat, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated impersonation of an LEO on January 25, 2025, at approximately 2:37 PM in Manhattan. Jeremy Barker, 45, of Manhattan, was arrested on January 25, 2025, at approximately 2:44 PM for the probable cause offenses of aggravated false impersonation, domestic battery, aggravated kidnapping, and criminal threat. Total bond was set at $150,000. Barker was confined at the time of this report. Due to the nature of this crime, no other details will be released at this time.

Officers filed a report of an unlawful discharge of a firearm on January 26, 2025, at approximately 2:26 AM in the 400block of S. Manhattan Ave..  Officers listed society as the victim when it was reported two bullet holes were located in the ceiling of an Air BNB.  Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. On January 25 and 26, RCPD officers responded to a variety of calls including a theft:

• Fraud and Larceny: A fraud case was reported at Commerce Bank on Claflin Road, and a pair of larceny incidents took place at Menards on McCall Road in Manhattan, both on January 25.

Recent Arrests:

Several individuals were arrested by RCPD officers on charges ranging from domestic battery to criminal offenses involving weapons and impersonation:

• Dashaun Isaac Kareem Edwards (21, Manhattan) was arrested early on January 26 for criminal use of weapons, trespassing, and violating protection orders. He remains in custody at the Riley County Jail, with no bond set at this time.
• Amber Marie Curry (37, Manhattan) was arrested on January 25 for domestic battery following an incident in Fairmont Park. She was booked into the Riley County Jail, with a bond set at $2,000.
• Jeremy Alexander Barker (45, Manhattan) faced multiple charges, including aggravated false impersonation, domestic battery, and aggravated kidnapping, after an arrest on January 25. His bond has been set at $150,000.
• Dale Allen Corbin (26, Manhattan) was arrested earlier on January 25 on charges of interfering with law enforcement and attempting to flee from officers during a warrant service. His arrest was later classified as “exceptionally cleared,” and he has been released from custody.
