A Manhattan man was injured while being arrested by Riley County Police Officers on Sunday.
Early Sunday morning, RCPD Officers came in contact with 31-year-old Joshua Stepney around the 1200 block of Moro St. He had an active arrest warrant through the Riley County District Court for Probation Violation. Stepney physically resisted the officers when they attempted to arrest him.
After his arrest, Stepney appeared to experience a medical emergency. Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County EMS were dispatched to the scene and provided medical assistance. Officers monitored Stepney until medical responders arrived on scene. He was transported by ambulance to Via Christi and later released, after which he was transported to the Riley County Jail.
Stepney was arrested on the offenses of interference with law enforcement officers and parole violation. He was issued a total bond of $8,000 causing him to remain confined at the Riley County Jail.
