Road construction is set to begin on K-99 from Frankfort to Wamego on Wednesday.

Two crews from Shilling Construction will be working on the 4.5-million-dollar mill and overlay project. The portion of the project in Frankfort is expected to be finished in a week while the remaining parts of the project will continue as weather permits. The project is expected to be completed in spring of 2021.

Work will occur during the daylight hours and motorists should expect up to 15 minutes of delay.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a work zone. To keep up with all road construction in Kansas visit kandrive.org.
