Riley County has confirmed 34 new positive COVID-19 cases and 13 recoveries since the last report on April 21st.

This brings the county’s total number of active cases to 42.

The percent positive rate for the week of April 18th was 1.7 percent, or 24 out of 1,415 total tests.

Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan is not caring for any COVID-positive patients.

Seven additional deaths in Riley County, said to have occurred between December 1st of 2020 and February 9th of this year, have been attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total number to 43.

So far, just over 17,000 Riley County residents have been fully vaccinated while over 3,900 have received one of two doses.

And for those yet to receive their first dose, the health department says it is left with extra doses at the end of each day, and noted anyone wanting to be placed on a standby list to receive the vaccine can email the health department at covid19vaccine@rileycountyks.gov.
