Riley County has confirmed 27 new positive COVID-19 cases and 16 additional recoveries since Monday’s report.
This brings the total number of active cases to 75.
The percent positive rate for the week of Feb. 21 was 2.2 percent, or 42 positive cases out of 1,922 tests.
According to Alice Massimi, Riley County public information office, this if the fifth consecutive week that Riley County’s percent positive rate has been below five percent.
Ascension Via Christi is currently caring for two positive patients, one of whom is in the Intensive Care Unit.
The Riley County Health Department will administer second doses, also known as boosters, this week to those who received vaccinations between Dec. 22 and Feb. 4.
Health officials are looking to complete Phase 2 next week, per state mandate.
Riley County is scaling back from three COVID-19 updates a week to two, which will be released on Mondays and Wednesdays.
While it is also suspending its weekly Facebook live video updates, it will continue providing updates on KMAN every Tuesday at 7 a.m..
