MANHATTAN, KAN. –
Officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 4500 block of Fort Riley Blvd. in Manhattan on February 26, 2021, at approximately 11:52 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2008 Chevrolet HHR driven by Adrienne Smith, 31, of Junction City had attempted to enter the roadway and was struck by a 2021 Dodge Charger driven by Lenny Rosario, 21, of Manhattan. Smith was transported to Via Christi for treatment of neck pain and a minor hand laceration. Rosario was transported to Via Christi for treatment of wrist and neck pain. Smith was issued a citation for unsafe lane change.
Officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on February 26, 2021, at approximately 1:26 p.m. Officers listed a 42-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect failed to provide payment for an agreed transaction. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $550.00.
Officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 1000 block of Houston St. in Manhattan on February 26, 2021, at approximately 1:37 p.m. Officers listed an 80-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect scammed them by pretending to work for the lottery. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in 100 block of Manhattan Town Center in Manhattan on February 27, 2021, at approximately 2:32 p.m. Officers listed a 26-yer-old female as the victim when it was reported a 27-year-old male suspect damaged her iPhone 12 Pro Max. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,420.00. Johnnie Brown Jr., 27, of Junction City was arrested in connection on the offense of criminal damage to property. Brown Jr. was issued a total bond of $1,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 100 block of Silo Pl. in Manhattan on February 27, 2021, at approximately 9:47 p.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged and vandalized his vehicle. Officers filed a report for battery, interference with LEO, and battery on LEO in the 700 block of N. Manhattan Ave. on February 27, 2021, at approximately 10:25 p.m. Officers listed 22-, 30-, and 45-year old males as the victims when it was reported a 25-year-old female battered them. Cody Totten, 25, of Wamego was arrested in connection on the offenses of battery, battery on LEO, felony battery on LEO, and interference with LEO. Totten is confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $9,000.00.
Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, flee or attempt to elude LEO, driving while suspended, and improper turn or approach in the 500 block of Pine Alley in Ogden on March 1, 2021, at approximately 12:03 a.m. Officers listed 30-, 50-, 60-, and 65-year-old males as the victims when it was reported a 38-year-old male fled officers and damaged property. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,500.00. Justin Staley, 38, homeless was arrested in connection on the offenses of criminal deprivation of property, fleeing and elude, failure to stop at a red light, improper turn or approach, driving while license is canceled/suspended/revoked, two counts of speeding, four counts of criminal trespass, and seven counts of criminal damage to property. Staley is confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $12,000.00.
