The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for theft in the 500 block of Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on January 15, 2021, at approximately 1:29 p.m. Officers listed Teknix Solutions as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a 1984 Model F computer keyboard. Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery, criminal restraint, and intimidation of witness or victim in Ogden on January 15, 2021, at approximately 1:43 p.m. Officers listed a 28-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect injured, intimidated, and confined her.

Officers filed a report for aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and criminal damage to property in Manhattan on January 16, 2021, at approximately 5:20 p.m. Officers listed a 33-year-old male and a 23-year-old female as the suspects when it was reported a 33-year-old male suspect and 23-year-old female suspect injured them and damaged a cell phone. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $100.00. Lea Marie Pierson, 23, of Manhattan was arrested on the offenses of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and domestic battery. Pierson was issued a total bond of $6,000.00 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on January 16, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m. Officers listed Walmart as the victim when it was reported a 25_year-old female suspect stole a miter saw, an air mattress, a luggage bag, a Bed in a Bag, Arcade furniture, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle furniture, an NBA Jam video game console, and a backpack. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $826.00.

Officers filed a report for domestic battery and criminal damage to property in Manhattan on January 17, 2021, at approximately 12:36 a.m. Officers listed 20- and 24-year-old males and an 18-year-old female as the victims when it was reported 20- and 24-year-old male suspects injured them and damaged a stove, door, and drywall. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $665.00.

Officers filed a report for sexual exploitation of a child in Manhattan on January 17, 2021, at approximately 1:50 a.m. Officers listed a 12-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect had exchanged explicit content. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1400 block of Highland Dr. in Manhattan on January 17, 2021, at approximately 4:25 p.m. Officers listed a 52-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged his vehicle. Officers filed a report for burglary in the 700 block of Allen Rd. in Manhattan on January 17, 2021, at approximately 8:56 p.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male and a 22-year-old female as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into a shed and stole assorted Snap-On tools, a Dewalt cordless angle grinder, and a Hypertech weedeater. Officers filed a report for aggravated battery, aggravated assault, domestic battery, battery, criminal damage to property, and criminal restraint in Manhattan on January 18, 2021, at approximately 6:42 p.m. Officers listed a 48-year-old male and a 40-year-old female as the victims when it was reported two 16-, a 20-, and a 48-year-old male and a 40-year-old female threatened them, injured them, and broke out a vehicle’s window. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $300.00. Jeremy Mitchell, 48, of Manhattan was arrested on the offense of criminal damage to property and is confined in the Riley County Jail on a $1,000.00 bond.

Officers filed a report for aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and criminal damage to property in the 600 block of Highland Ridge in Manhattan on January 18, 2021, at approximately 4:39 p.m. Officers listed 18- and 20-year-old males and Highland Ridge Apartments as the victims when it was reported two unknown white male suspects forced their way into the residence and stole cash and an iPhone 12.
