Fire destroyed a Manhattan home Monday evening, south of Fort Riley Blvd.

Crews from the Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County Fire District No. 1 responded around 6:30 p.m. to the fully engulfed 2-story home in the 2000 block of Dunbar Ave, directly behind Reptile World.

No one was home at the time and no injuries have been reported.

The roof reportedly collapsed and officials said the home was a total loss. It’s unclear what started the fire. The Riley County Fire Department continues to investigate.

MFD cleared the scene at around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
