Riley County voters will have two places to vote in person for advanced voting starting next week.

Speaking to the Riley County commission Monday, County Clerk Rich Vargo says the county was fortunate to have enough volunteers to staff a polling a location at the K-State Student Union.  Voters can go up to the Bluemont Room on the second floor to cast their vote starting on Oct 14.  Advanced voting will also take place at the county office building as well.

Advanced voting hours for both locations are as followed:

County Office Building, second floor:

  • Week of Oct 14-16: Wednesday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Oct 19-31: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Monday Nov 2: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Bluemont Room, K-State Student Union:

  • Oct 14-31: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday Nov 2: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Vargo also announced a mail ballot drop off box will be placed in the Westloop Shopping Center, though an exact location has not yet been determined.  Along with this location, small drop off boxes are also being planned for the smaller cities in the county.  The City of Randolph is still determining a location, as it does not have a city office.  The first round of ballots to go out will exceed 8,000.

The deadline for voter registration is on Oct 13.
