On Friday’s edition of In Focus, Riley County Extension Director Gary Fike discussed ongoing activities with the Extension Office, including VITA Tax Preparation Services at the Manhattan Public Library and early discussions underway regarding the future of the Riley County Fairgrounds.
Manhattan Convention & Visitors Bureau Sports/Leisure Sales Manager Marcia Rozell and Special Olympics Kansas Sports and Program Manager Krystin Guggisberg joined us to preview the Class 2A State Basketball Tournament hosted at Bramlage Coliseum next weekend and the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament being held the following weekend.
Flint Hills ATA Bus Marketing and Communications Specialist Daphne McNelly spoke about inclement weather with spring storms and how drivers are preparing to keep passengers safe on the roads and highlighted community partnerships, the 600 Poyntz project and the KSU Open House on April 1, which will include free fares on the ATA Bus.
In our final segment we discussed Fort Riley’s Big Red One Year of the Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) and Women’s History Month with Master Sgt. Shantese Ratledge and Major Katherine Baumann, who also shared some of their own experiences serving in the Army.
