Severe weather is a possibility this evening and overnight for much of north central and northeast Kansas.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Manhattan area in an enhanced (level 3) risk for severe storms tonight, starting after dark. Brief tornadoes are possible, along with damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding.

The National Weather Service has already issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Manhattan area with the forecast of 1 to 3 inches of rain possible with these storms.

Portions of northwest Kansas are listed in a moderate (level 4) risk.
