Boston and Pearl Jam have cancelled their upcoming shows in North Carolina because of the state’s new, “bathroom bill.”

The new law makes people use public bathrooms based on the gender on their birth certificates.

Pearl Jam wrote the bill is, “a despicable piece of legislation that encourages discrimination against an entire group of American citizens…We want America to be a place where no one can be turned away from a business because of who they love or fired from their job for who they are.” Pearl Jam was scheduled to play in Raleigh tomorrow night.

Boston wrote that the law discriminates against a minority who are already dealing with several issues.

Boston was going to play May 4th, 5th and 6th in Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh. They have apologized to fans for the cancellations.

Bruce Springsteen and Ringo Starr have also cancelled scheduled shows in North Carolina over the last couple weeks.
