This holiday season, K-ROCK invites you to take the time to give back to those in need with the Manhattan Emergency Shelter’s “Adopt-N-Ornament” tree.
Each ornament on the tree at the Manhattan Emergency Shelter has a list of Christmas items for a single shelter resident or resident family. In addition, there are also ornaments with new items needed for the Shelter itself.
Manhattan Emergency Shelter, Inc. uses in-kind donations to provide items to community members in need. When an individual or family transitions into permanent housing, they do not always have basic household items like dishes, furniture, bedding, or cookware. Donated items are provided to these households who would likely go without to decrease expenditures related to moving.
MESI also uses in-kind donations to supplement operational costs of maintaining the facility, these items may include: cleaning supplies, office supplies, medical supplies, or food items.
If you want to help out but can’t adopt an ornament, click here for a list of items MESI always needs! Every dollar they don’t spend on these items is another dollar kept to spent helping the residents.
