City Candidates Forum @ Fire Station

The Manhattan Association of Realtors and Flint Hills Area Builders Association will sponsor a City Candidates Forum on Thursday, September 28th at 7:00 pm in the Fire Station Lecture Hall.  There will be time prior to and after the Forum to meet and greet the organization members.  Plus, this will be open to the public.

Bike Your Park Day @ Tuttle Creek State Park

Bike Your Park Day will be Saturday, September 30th from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.  Join everyone at Tuttle Creek State Park for a family friendly guided bike ride.  5 Mile Ride.  Bring your own bike and meet at Camp Store in River Pond area.  A light breakfast snack to follow the ride.  No cost, vehicle permits are required.

Fried Chicken & Ham Supper @ St Luke's Lutheran Church

A Fried Chicken & Ham Supper with all the fixings; Mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salads, coleslaw, homemade breads and pies, will be held on Sunday October 1st beginning at 4:30 pm at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wheaton.  Carry outs available.  Adults; $10.00/ Children (ages 5-12): $5.00 (ages 4 and under: FREE).  They will also have homemade goodies and crafts.

The Wizard of Oz @ Columbian Theatre

The Columbian will be presenting The Wizard of Oz during the OZtoberFest weekend.  The Mystery show will start on Thursday, October 5th at 7:30 to kick off all events.  Then there will be two more shows the 6th and 7th at 7:30 pm as well.  The Oz Murder Mystery is an original comedy written by a local playwright and teacher Bryan Scruggs.  This year there will be a new twist endings each night and even new characters.  It will be even better than last year.

Star Wars Reads Day! @ Manhattan Public Library

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away……Manhattan Public Library hosted Star Wars Reads Day!  Visit the library on Saturday, October 7th from 10:00 am to noon for games, trivia, and activities for all ages.  Then at noon, gather in the auditorium for a movie screening.  Crafts and activities will include trivia, Jedi training with bubbles, and a cosplay panel discussion.  Costumes are encouraged and participants are invited to join the cosplay/costume parade which will take place at 11:15 Am.  Door prizes will be awarded to several lucky attendees.  You must be present at the time of the drawing to win.  For more information visit the Manhattan Public Library, call 785-776-4741 or visit the library’s website at www.MHKLibrary.org

Campus Mobile Food Pantry @ Chester E Peters Recreation Complex

The Riley County 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus Fundraiser Garage Sale will be held on Friday, October 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, October 21st from 7:30 am to Noon at Wreath Barn in CiCo Park north of Pottorf Hall.  If you would like to donate to this event you may drop off items on location on Thursday, October 19th, Noon to 8:00 pm and Friday, October 20th from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.  If you have questions about this event contact John Jobe at 785-537-6350.
