Enjoy great music and a great time on Friday, May 17, at 7pm at the Manhattan Arts Center!
The bands playing include:
FUMA, a local alternative-rock 4-piece
The Thundering Cats, a 18-piece big-band
and Alli & Billy, an acoustic duo from Des Moines, Iowa.
The event is a fundraiser for the Garden of H.O.P.E Team, who will be traveling to Kenya, Africa this summer to help construct and sustain a community garden, as well as participate in community improvement.
The event is free of charge, but donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated!
Brenda’s Brigade presents the Brenda Allen Morgan Cancer Benefit Concert. Door’s open at 6:30pm. Show is from 7pm to 12:30am. The band that sells the most tickets has their choice of four professionally recorded songs from Bullet Ride Productions or $300 cash.
There will be 2 raffles one for a pair of VIP to Jackyl and the other for a pair of VIP ticket’s to a upcoming show of their choice at Rc Mcgraws.

There will be a Calving School Meeting on Thursday, January 18th at the Alta Vista Baptist Church from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. The program will be Calving Tips — When and How to Intervene, Assisting Cows vs First-calf Heifers, Calf Delivery Demo, Scour Prevention, and more. Speakers will be Dr. A.J. Tarpoff, K-State Research & Extension Veterinarian and Dr. Amy Bandel, DVM, Mill Creek Veterinary Services. Registration is due by January 12th. Time travel back to the 1880’s with the Riley County Historical Society and Museum in a three part series beginning Thursday, January 18th at the Manhattan Public Library from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The series looks back at Riley County and Manhattan during the pivotal period of the 1880’s exploring finances, fashion, fads, foods as well as residents, famous and infamous. Everyone is welcome. Admission is free.
