FUMA, a local alternative-rock 4-piece
The Thundering Cats, a 18-piece big-band
and Alli & Billy, an acoustic duo from Des Moines, Iowa.
The event is a fundraiser for the Garden of H.O.P.E Team, who will be traveling to Kenya, Africa this summer to help construct and sustain a community garden, as well as participate in community improvement.
The event is free of charge, but donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated!
Brenda’s Brigade presents the Brenda Allen Morgan Cancer Benefit Concert. Door’s open at 6:30pm. Show is from 7pm to 12:30am. The American Red Cross will hold the eighth annual Keep the Drive Alive blood drive November 16th-17th in memory of Kevin Coffey. The blood drive will be from noon to 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 16th and from 7:30 to 1:00 pm on Friday, November 17th at St. Thomas More Church. Appointments are not required but are recommended; walk-in donors are welcome. The Friends of the Kansas State University Gardens are hosting a poinsettia and amaryllis sale on 3 different dates at the Quinlan Visitor Center. Dates are Friday, November 17th from 3:00 – 5:30 pm; Wednesday, November 29th from noon to 5:30 pm and Friday, December 1st from 3:00 – 5:30 pm. Poinsettias and amaryllis are $10 each or 6 for $50. Many colors and varieties are available. Come early for the best selection. Cash or check only.
The Keats Lions will have their Pancake Feed on Saturday, November 18th from 7:00 – 10:00 am. It will be at the Keats Center located in back of the Keats Methodist Church on Keats Avenue. There will be pancakes, sausages, orange juice, milk and coffee. A free will donation will support Keats Lions Club projects.
Fort Riley Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation is hosting its third annual “Gobble Wobble” on Saturday, November 18th starting at 12:30 pm. The “Gobble Wobble” is a two-mile fun run, or walk, that includes Thanksgiving dinner along the route. The run begins at Riley’s Conference Center and features five food stops where participants will be able to enjoy portion-controlled turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, a dinner roll and, of course, pumpkin pie. Participants are invited to stuff area food banks, as well. Attendees who bring a non-perishable food item will be entered into a prize drawing. For more information for to riley.armymwr.com.
