The Crafty Seniors will be having their Hot Summer Sale at the Manhattan Town Center on August 10th, 11th & 12th. Times are 10:00 am to 8:30 pm on Thursday and Friday and 10:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday. Stop in and cool off and see all the wonderful homemade crafts.
Flint Hills Auto is hosting a Back to School and School Supply Carnival at Chick-fil-A this Saturday, August 12th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Please bring school supplies to donate and contribute to “Filling a Ford Truck” with Flint Hills Auto. All donations benefit F.I.T. Closet and Clothing Exchange. School supplies earn you tickets for the carnival and raffle.
The Manhattan Book Discussion Group and the VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Support Group will meet on Tuesday, August 15th in the Riley County Senior Service Center. The Book Group will meet at 1:00 pm. This will be only a half hour meeting to choose some titles for the coming year. The VIP meeting will follow at 1:30 to 3:00. Please note the early start time. The guest speaker will be Kathrine Schlageck from the Marianna Beach Art Museum at Kansas State University. She will present an outreach with a focus on Native Indian art and culture mainly from the Southwest. She will have items that can be passed around to you to touch.
